Before His Excellency Sir Henry A. Blake, G.C.M.G., left the Colony he wrote to me asking that I should get the permission of the Directors to allow a Statue either of His Majesty the King, or of His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales to be erected on the northern portion of the reclamation owned by the Bank in front of our premises.
I am very glad to inform you that my Directors have unanimously agreed to accede to His Excellency's request.
